Burials
A place to rememberFuneral services can be tailored to be as formal or informal as desired, allowing you to determine the level of religious observance based on your beliefs and the preferences of your loved one.
R.Brownless and Grandson are equipped to coordinate the funeral and burial at your selected cemetery, graveyard, or burial site, and can facilitate the purchase of a grave if necessary. Most burial sites feature a chapel or room suitable for the service; however, you may prefer to hold the service in a specific church or venue that holds significance for you.
If you possess a family burial plot, we may assist in arranging its reopening prior to the burial. Should you wish to acquire burial plots adjacent to one another, it is advisable to consult with the local authority regarding the possibility of purchasing or reserving multiple plots, and we are here to assist you with this process.
What happens at a burial?
On the day of the funeral, attendees may choose to gather outside the burial site to await the arrival of the hearse and cortege, or they may prefer to sit in the chapel until the coffin is brought in. Alternatively, the coffin can be transported to the venue ahead of the mourners’ arrival.
Typically, a funeral service lasts between 20 to 60 minutes and may feature a selection of hymns or meaningful non-religious songs, along with eulogies and readings.
After the funeral service, if you opt for one, the committal service generally occurs at the graveside, led by a minister, clergy member, or another officiant. This service can be customized according to your wishes, incorporating readings, songs, and prayers.
